Ever thought about joining the Ontario Provincial Police? There are a number of events coming up October 1st, as part of a Province-wide information blitz on the opportunity. Pre-registration is required for most. At East Region Headquarters in Smiths Falls you can attend from 10AM to 3PM. Lanark OPP’s event is at the Carleton Place Arena, 75 Neelin Street, from 10AM to Noon. The Renfrew Detachment, at 410 O’Brien Drive, offers a morning session from 10AM to Noon, and an Afternoon program from 1-3PM. Upper Ottawa Valley OPP’s program is an open-house format, to be held from 9AM to 4PM at 77 International Drive in Pembroke, and no registration is necessary. This year’s Provincial Recruitment Day’s theme is “A Day in the Life.” Whether you are interested in becoming a police officer, auxiliary member (volunteer) or working in a civilian role, there has never been a better time to apply. Those interested can visit opp.ca/prd for information and registration.
