The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP has provided an update to a major bust in Pembroke. On Friday of last week (July 29th, 2022), officers executed a search warrant at a home on Mary Street in Pembroke and arrested seven people. The OPP seized large quantities of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine. A handgun and cash were also taken by police.
26-year-old Brandon Brownlee of North-Algona-Wilberforce, 60-year-old Joanne Reis of Pembroke, 32-year-old Jessica Dumont of Pembroke, 18-year-old Jevoi Sangster from Scarborough, 18-year-old Timothy Williams from Scarborough, and a 17-year-old from Scarborough were all charged with two counts of drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime (under $5,000) and five firearms related offences including possession of a loaded weapon for a dangerous purpose and for having a firearm that has the serial numbers tampered with. Brownlee, Sangster and Reis were also charged for not following court orders.
In addition, 26-year-old Benjamin Leclaire of Pembroke has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking opioids and failure to comply with probation.
Reis was held for a bail hearing scheduled for Friday, August 5th, and the others were released with court dates in Pembroke coming up in September.
