For a first dip back in the water for big events in Renfrew, the Bluegrass Festival blew past expectations.
Jenna McEwan, Renfrew’s Communications Coordinator, worked closely on the Festival and tells myFM they had 200 trailers and tents make Ma-Te-Way Park their home between July 7th and the 10th.
McEwan adds that they expect the Bluegrass Festival to grow next year, as many people have already committed to come back. It’s a result that doesn’t come without a lot of help, as McEwan reflected on getting the festival off the ground. She says it doesn’t get done without the help of the community.
The positive feedback that the town received from the attendees, acts, and volunteers of the Bluegrass Festival bodes well for future big events in town, like the Renfrew Fair.
McEwan adds that after two pandemic years people are ready to experience large community events once more.
