A busy night for Renfrew Town Council brought news of new signage for the Ottawa Valley Coffee building in the downtown core, as Town Planner Eric Withers told Town Council at their Tuesday, June 14th meeting.
Withers explained to council that the business had applied for two grants to help cover the cost, as the project has an estimated price tag of around $15,000.
The new birch-framed, light-up marquee style sign will replace an existing fixture that Withers described as “falling to shreds at this point.”
However, Withers said he was quick to remind the business of town by-laws regarding light-up signs.
Ultimately, Council approved just over $2,500 in grant funding to help make the proposal a reality.
Councilor Tom Sidney spoke in favour of the new fixture, calling it a great addition to the downtown core.
