myFM attended a ground breaking ceremony Friday morning (April 22nd, 2022).
Arnprior Mayor Walter Stack joined Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski, in congratulating the Conseil Des Écoles Catholiques Du Centre-Est on the occasion of the ground breaking ceremony for the new French Catholic Elementary School being built on Baskin Drive.
Mayor Stack is pleased to be able to offer a home for francophone students who currently do not have access to French language education in the Town of Arnprior, neighbouring municipalities in the County of Renfrew, the City of Ottawa, and the County of Lanark.
The Mayor says the addition of a daycare centre will also fill a need in the growing community.
The elementary school will be able to accommodate 248 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, and will include a daycare center with a capacity of 49 children.
Construction is expected to wrap up for a grand opening in September of 2023.
