The Arnprior and Area Physician Recruitment Committee is happy to announce the opening of the Tall Pines Clinic in the same building as the new Grove Nursing Home.
This new Physician space will be occupied by Dr. Ridgen, Dr. Padeanu, Dr. Fannon and Dr. Cremer.
The Arnprior and Area Physician Recruitment Committee has successfully recruited seven physicians, (two retirement replacements, and five new practices) to Arnprior and the surrounding area since 2018, enabling 5,000 patients to have a family physician.
Dr. Julie Ridgen and Dr. Florin Padeanu joined the Arnprior Family Health Team in 2020 and had been practicing out of the Kenwood Building. Dr. Julie Ridgen was born in Stratford Ontario and grew up in Arnprior where she completed both primary and secondary education. Following undergraduate studies at The University of Western Ontario, and The University of British Columbia, she completed her Family Medicine
Certification at McGill. She has practiced in Montreal, Oka, Iqaluit and Winnipeg, and her recent return to the Ottawa Valley has brought her full circle, and closer to family and friends. Dr. Florin Padeanu completed his undergraduate studies and Family Medicine Certification at The University of Manitoba, and successfully ran a large medical clinic in Winnipeg for many years.
Dr. Megan Fannon began practicing in May of 2021 and assumed many of the patients of the retired physician, Dr. Cynthia Morrison. Dr. Megan Fannon is a native of the Ottawa Valley, having grown up on a farm in Maple Leaf, Ontario. She grew up immersed in the tradition of the Ottawa Valley fiddle music and step dancing, and eventually pursued her undergraduate degree in classical piano performance at McGill University, with a minor in sciences. She completed medical school at the University of Ottawa, followed by a residency in family medicine at the University of Ottawa which she completed in June 2020. Dr. Fannon is very excited to be joining the family health team in Arnprior.
Dr. Samantha Cremer replaced Dr. Jonathan Fitzsimon in November when Dr. Jonathan
Fitzsimon moved from his family practice to lead new efforts to improve access to family
medicine across Renfrew County. Dr. Cremer is also working in the Tall Pines Clinic.
Dr. Samantha Cremer went to the University of Ottawa for medical school and for her residency in family medicine. She has had the opportunity to work in Northern communities such as Inuvik, Rankin Inlet and Dawson City. She will be joining the Arnprior Family Health Team this November. Having grown up in Constance Bay, she has spent lots of her youth in the Ottawa Valley and is excited to provide medical care to this community.
