
OPP are in the process of searching for a suspect after the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) bank on Elgin Street in Arnprior was held up in an apparent armed robbery.
The incident took place at approximately 11:30am this morning (Dec. 23rd, 2021).
On December 23, 2021 at approximately 11:35 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call from a bank in Arnprior. A masked suspect entered the bank and approached a teller demanding money. The suspect exited the bank with the funds and continued on foot carrying a yellow grocery bag. There were no injuries sustained in this incident and there is no concern for public safety.
The suspect is described as approximately 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, with brown hair wearing a dark coloured toque, dark coloured sunglasses, a light coloured zippered jacket and blue plaid pyjama pants. The suspect’s face was covered with a light coloured bandana with dots.
