Always check electrical equipment, don’t overload circuits, and use CSA/UL approved cords and lights. Avoid using wax candles especially near decorations. Remember to stay in the kitchen when cooking to ensure pots don’t overheat and
keep the stove top clear of items that may catch fire. If you or your visitors smoke, do so outside and provide a metal container for product waste. Never use potted plants or flower beds. If alcohol is being consumed be extra cautious with regards to fire safety, stay overnight or have a designated driver. Most importantly ensure you have a working smoke alarm on every level of your home. If you have a fuel fired appliance in the home or an attached garage, a carbon monoxide alarm should be in place in all sleeping areas. Remember your fire escape plan and share it with visitors in the event a fire occurs while they are visiting With the added stress of the current pandemic conditions, we ask you to be
vigilant in protecting your health while remembering your Fire Safe practices to ensure we all have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season with our families. Best wishes for 2022 to everyone.
