
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP has laid charges after a serious collision involving two passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer.
Police, paramedics and firefighters responded to the crash on Highway 17 at B Line Road around 6:30am on Wednesday morning (December 15th, 2021).
The OPP says the tractor trailer was heading westbound on Highway 17 when it collided with an SUV that was southbound on B Line Road.
The Commercial Motor Vehicle also collided with an SUV that was eastbound on Highway 17.
As a result of this investigation the 23 year-old driver of the tractor trailer, from Winnipeg, has been charged with failure to stop at a red light.
The driver of the SUV on B Line Road, an 86 year-old from Laurentian Valley, was extricated by the local Fire Department and flown from the scene by ORNGE to an Ottawa Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
A 61 year-old passenger from Kingston in the same vehicle and the driver of the eastbound SUV, a 41 year-old from Deep River, were both taken to local hospital by land ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 17 was closed for several hours due to the investigation and removal of the involved vehicles.
