Money had been the hold-up on two previous occasions, so the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est
(CECCE) is pleased to advise the Ministry of Education is granting the board additional funding for the project.
The confirmation was issued Friday October 29th.
The latest tendering project took place in June and the CECCE has now signed an agreement with a contractor.
The future elementary school will accommodate 248 students and create 49 child care spaces.
CECCE Trustee representative Robert Lemelin specifically credits Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski for twisting enough arms to get the extra cash, and Board Chair Johanne Lacombe says she is delighted that the new school will at last be moving forward.
The next step in the process will be a long-awaited ground breaking ceremony.
