The Crown Attorney for Renfrew County has been assigned as a new justice at the Pembroke courthouse.
Justice Jeffery Ralph Richardson was called to the bar in 1995 and started his legal career focusing on family and criminal law.
In 2003, Justice Richardson joined the provincial government as an assistant Crown attorney and in 2015 he became the Crown attorney for Renfrew County.
Justice Richardson also taught civil litigation, wills and estates at Loyalist College and was counsel with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada in the federal government.
Attorney General Doug Downey announced the appointment effective May 27th, 2021.
Chief Justice Lise Maisonneuve has assigned Justice Richardson to Pembroke.
Justice Richardson has volunteered in various roles on several boards including the Phoenix Centre for Children and Youth (Renfrew County), Youth Resources Niagara, United Way of Quinte and the Hastings County Children’s Aid Society. He was also a member of the Renfrew County Law Association, Ontario Senior Crown Attorneys’ Association and Hastings County Law Association.
