Metro Inc has responded to myFM’s request for a statement on the detection of COVID-19 at its Arnprior location on Daniel Street.
Stephanie Bonk, corporate Communications Manager at Metro’s Toronto headquarters advises that they were notified on Monday that an employee who was last at the Metro store (375 Daniel Street South) on (Saturday)April 3rd was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Bonk notes that they have been in contact with the individual to make sure they are OK, that they are isolating and getting proper medical attention.
She advises Metro takes positive cases very seriously.
The firm first notified public health and then notified all other store employees of the situation.
An emergency sanitation protocol was immediately put in place.
All surfaces that the infected person may have been in contact with were immediately cleaned, as well as common areas, and equipment that may have been used.
This occurred in addition to the regular wiping down of high-touch areas within the store throughout the day.
Additionally on (Monday) April 5th, the store was given a thorough and complete cleaning and sanitization after hours by an external cleaning company.
