A 41-year-old from Laurentian Valley has been charged after hitting a roller skater with their car in Pembroke on Sunday. Police responded to the crash around 9:15 pm on Boundary Road. Reports indicate that the skater entered the vehicle through the windshield after being hit. The 28-year-old victim from Pembroke, was extricated and airlifted to Ottawa with serious life-altering injuries. The driver was not injured however, Evan Foss is now charged with drunk driving and operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 27, 2021.
