Chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam is hoping life can start getting somewhat back to normal before September, but she isn’t circling a date on the calendar just yet.
Tam says early vaccine results are very encouraging. Procurement Minister Anita Anand says most of the 643,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses arriving in the country this week have already been delivered.
Officials have noted that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants all restrictions lifted in the U-K by June 21st.
Ontario is reporting 975 new cases and 12 more deaths today. This morning, Quebec reported 739 new infections and another 13 deaths. No new COVID-19 cases were reported today by the Renfrew County and District Health Unit.
