Town councillors in Arnprior have approved the new design for the water tower. The matter was discussed as part of council last night (February 22nd, 2021).
Council approved the design suggested by staff that includes adding the towns logo and slogan to the water tower.
Council has budgeted $350,000 for the job.
This project was recommended following several paint tests and is considered necessary maintenance and will help protect the steel tank from further corrosion. The background colour of the tank is proposed to be kept as white to minimize heat absorption from the sun and prevent increased water temperatures which will in turn help to maintain adequate chlorine residuals.
A tender for the job will likely be released next month (March 2021).
