Arnprior council will be considering options for repainting the water tower tonight (February 22nd, 2021).
Staff are recommending the two “Arnprior” names be kept in a similar position and size, but updated in font and colour to match the current Arnprior brand.
Staff are also asking council to consider adding the towns logo and slogan “Where the Rivers Meet” to the water tower.
Council has budgeted $350,000 for exterior paint repairs and an overcoat of the water tower.
A tender for the job will likely be released in early to mid-March.
This project was recommended following several assessments and paint tests conducted over the past several years and is considered necessary maintenance required to extend the life of the facility and provide additional protection of the steel tank from further corrosion.
