Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Member of Parliament Cheryl Gallant’s efforts to provide Canadians with a modicum of property rights has been shot down by the combined votes of the Liberal, NDP and Bloc Quebecois.
Bill, C-222 is dead.
The initiative would have required the federal government to issue a notice, hold a hearing, and provide compensation in the event of an expropriation for the purpose of natural habitat restoration or climate variability.
Cheryl Gallant hopes that, in the event of a snap federal election, Canadians will remember the deed and stand up to defend property rights.
