We told you yesterday that the first Moderna vaccine shots were given out to Grove residents in Arnprior, and recipients couldn’t have been more delighted.
The re-adjusted Provincial timeline is in fact, advanced.
The new target is to vaccinate all long-term residents with the first dose by February 5th instead of the most recent target of February 15th, as residents have been prioritized before vaccinating staff and essential caregivers.
Grove Resident Rita Colterman was among the first to get her shot.
92 per cent of the Grove residents consented and received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday.
The immunizations were administered onsite by the Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) team.
ARH Chief Executive Officer Eric Hanna indicates that vaccine availability will continue to be the most significant variable in the vaccination timeline, and necessary adjustments will be made to align with the provincial strategy and the RCDHU’s distribution plan.
Residents will receive their second dose of Moderna within the recommended timeline window.
