The County of Renfrew has been notified of a positive COVID-19 test in an employee at Miramichi Lodge long-term care home in Pembroke.
The employee last worked on December 27th on Resident Home Area 3A with no resident interactions and a small number of co-worker interactions.
While the health care worker was wearing personal protective equipment the local health unit will be testing all residents and employees out of an abundance of caution.
Due to the positive COVID result; Miramichi Lodge must suspend all general visits to the Home with designated essential caregivers still permitted.
Director of Long-Term Care, Shelley Sheedy, says the health and safety of residents and employees remains the top priority.
Sheedy says they continue to follow the advice from Public Health to ensure people are protected while providing care and delivering essential services to residents.
