The Town of Renfrew has opened the skating oval at Ma-te-way.
For those wanting to lace up their skates and take a lap, there are some rules to follow.
The skating oval is open from 9:00am to 9:00pm with ice resurfacing taking place at 1:00pm and 5:00pm (or as required).
There is a limit of 50 people allowed on the outdoor skating oval at any time, with face masks required if physical distancing can’t be met.
The Town of Renfrew Parks and Recreation Department has posted online saying no pucks or sticks are allowed on the skating oval at anytime.
Town staff had to restart the process after a wet and rainy Christmas, but with the recent cold weather have been able to make the ice and open the skating oval.

Here’s what our skating oval looked like after the rain. 🙁We have to start over and we need some cold days and nights to help the process. 🧊
