Imagine having to carry around eighty-odd entrance keys, and know which one is which.
That’s the dilemma faced by the Renfrew Fire Department, according to Chief Kevin Welsh.
The Fire Chief says having a key to the premises gets around not being able to get in to fight a fire if one has broken out- but that creates another potential problem- what if a key gets lost?
Welsh says a new system will see access keys left on site in a secure exterior vault.
The Renfrew Fire Chief expects the new system to be fully implemented by the end of 2021.
