She’s described as having a heart of gold, and always willing to lend a hand.
Now, Bonnie Keefe, the Renfrew mom who went on a hunger strike in November of 2019 to call attention to the lack of supportive housing available for he special-needs daughter, needs your help.
Early this month it became apparent Bonnie was afflicted with Sarcoidosis, an inflammatory organ disease, and she lost her eyesight as a result.
Bonnie’s diagnosis revealed the disease had spread to other organs including the brain, and she will require medical procedures, treatments, medications and therapy to help her heal through a long and difficult recovery.
Bonnie was released December 8th to continue treatment at home.
She has to make multiple trips to Ottawa per week (100km each way) in order to be monitored and re-assessed.
There’s hope a special treatment can boost her chances of recovery, but the meds are quite expensive.
Help Bonnie Recover is the name of a gofundme page established to help her heal.
A goal of 30 thousand dollars has been established, and a link to the page can be found on our website.
