Ottawa Valley Taekwon-Do has 26 athletes competing in the 1st Virtual Pan-American ITF (International Taekwon-Do Federation) Pattern Competition. The owner of Ottawa Valley Taekwon-Do Luc Fleurant says they have the second largest group of competitors taking part.
Fleurant says the athletes will video a pattern set including kicks and punches that will be reviewed by judges. He adds all the clips have been submitted in advance of the virtual competition.
The owner of Ottawa Valley Taekwon-Do says they were able to reopen during the pandemic, but have a number of safety precautions in place including eliminating contact and cleaning the area after each use.
The ITF Pattern Competition starts Sunday and wraps up on Tuesday (October 18th to October 20th). Fleurant says you can watch everything and get the results available online.
