
Quick action by staff helped extinguish a fire at a Pembroke business.
The Pembroke Fire Department was called out to a structure fire on Pembroke Street West around 3:00pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday, September 25th).
Pembroke Fire Chief Dan Herback says upon arrival, the fire had been extinguished through quick action by business staff.
Fire fighters ventilated the building, removing the residual extinguishing agent from the interior.
Chief Herback says there was no injuries and tenants in the apartments above have not been displaced.
The OPP were on scene as well as Renfrew County Paramedics.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but the OPP says it’s not suspicious.
