Legion members have defended our freedoms in world wars and regional conflicts; let’s not let the local branch fall victim to a COVID sneak attack.
A committee of three local residents, Tracy Smith, Vintage Crate owner Dave Pelke and Giant Tiger’s Mike Marcil have banded together in an effort to rescue Royal Canadian Legion Branch 174 from the brink.
Marcil notes that with the Legion relying on activities to bring people in- and profit from that camraderie, there’s not much going on with its Daniel Street doors shuttered by COVID.
On Monday, the trio launched the gofundme account, Help Save Our Legion, with a goal of 10 thousand dollars.
