The new Chief and Council has been sworn in for the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation.
Chief Wendy Jocko and councillors Dan Kohoko, Merv Sarazin, Jim Meness, Barbara Sarazin, Steve Benoit and Angeline Commanda attended the ceremony at the Cultural Grounds in Pikwakanagan on Tuesday afternoon (September 8th, 2020).
For the first time the ceremony was streamed live online.
Chief Wendy Jocko replaces outgoing Chief Kirby Whiteduck who was the leader for 17-years and involved with council for 25.
