An altercation in Whitewater Region Township has led to a charge of Attempted Murder.
Saturday night about 11:30PM, officers with the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported stabbing at a residence on Highway 17.
Police and Renfrew County Paramedics attended, locating a 29 year old victim with serious injuries.
The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Hrudey YOUANCE, age 34 of Ottawa has been charged with Attempted murder and Assault.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
Further to the incident, David BLACKWOOD, age 31 of Ottawa has been charged with Sexual Assault.
Blackwood was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 16th.
The investigation continues under the auspices of the Renfrew OPP Crime Unit and East Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS).
