Beaches in McNab/Braeside will hopefully open to the public this weekend. Recreation Director, Geoff Patterson, says they are working with the local health unit to make sure they are meeting all the health and safety guidelines.
Patterson says with it heating up outside it’ll be nice to reopen the beaches.
The Recreation Director in McNab/Braeside says the washrooms will be open with limited access.
Patterson says they hope to have both Burnstown Beach and Braeside Beach open this weekend. Boat launches in McNab/Braeside are currently open.
The Burnstown Beach (pictured below) is located at 1537 Calabogie Road and boasts a beautiful sandy beach on the Madawaska River. There is a boat launch at this beach and parking passes for the boat launch can be purchased at the concession stand, Antrim Truck Stop, White Lake General Store and the Township Office.
The Braeside Beach (pictured below) is located west of Red Pine Bay and is close to 200 metres in length along the Ottawa River. The course sand and defined swimming area is great for swimming. This beach also boasts a natural walking trail, several picnic tables and seasonal washrooms.
You can get updates on the township website.
