The Rural Ontario Institute has announced the 2020 cohort of its Rural Change Makers pilot project.
Eighteen participants, aged 18 to 29, will have the opportunity to make an impact in their rural community.
One of those is no stranger locally, he’s first-term McNab-Braeside municipal councillor Oliver Jacob.
The vision of the Rural Change Makers Program is to grow the capacity of young adults to serve as
changemakers and strengthen rural community development at the same time.
The 18 Change Makers were selected with the understanding that they have already obtained
impressive innovative qualities and know-how, which Oliver isn’t shy about.
He’s been a contract employee with the Town of Arnprior and studied municipal administration while at university.
