He didn’t learn his lesson the first time around. Over the weekend police arrested a 34-year-old Joel Visutskie from Pembroke for allegedly robbing a pharmacy in Beachburg. The OPP says a masked person with an edged weapon entered the pharmacy on Saturday morning (March 28th) and made off with a quantity of prescription drugs in a vehicle that was stolen the night before from a home in Laurentian Valley. Visutskie is facing a number of charges including robbery with a weapon. Police also charged the individual in some recent vehicle thefts and use of stolen credit cards in the area.
Visustkie has a history of allegedly robbing pharmacies in the Ottawa Valley.
The 34-year-old from Pembroke was also arrested near the end of 2019 and was charged for allegedly robbing a customer leaving a pharmacy on Pembroke Street East. He spent less than 24-hours in jail for that incident and was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. This time the accused will be held in custody for at least two weeks with a video court appearance scheduled for April 14th.
