Zachary Wittke’s murder trial at Ottawa Superior Court continues before the jury today, after procedural wrangling over evidence consumed closed door discussions Monday. The 22 year-old Eganville man is charged with first degree murder in the death of 65 year-old Sheila Welsh of Arnprior, who perished when her vehicle was struck by a pickup truck on Daniel Street in Arnprior in September of 2017. Three weeks have been alottled to the case and developments are proceeding at pace. It is anticipated the Crown will conclude its presentation Tuesday (today), and that attorney Jan Catarino will call the accused as the Defence’s first witness. The matter could go to jury early next week.
