2019 wasn’t a year that saw Admaston-Bromley spared from flooding.
Mayor Michael Donohue says that although the Bonnechere River didn’t spill its banks, his Township’s flood event came earlier than most- a confluence of circumstance saw devastation back on the Easter Weekend.
The Mayor says the last culvert taken out by the damage wasn’t replaced until mid November on the Culhane Road.
Donohue says like other area municipalities, Admaston-Bromley was impacted by the closure of Renfrew’s Beauman Waste Management facility.
The Mayor is encouraged that as the year draws to a close, there’s talk a new recycler wants to reopen at the Beauman site in neighbouring Renfrew.
Donohue says on his highlight reel has to be the Township’s spirit of volunteerism.
At the municipal meeting December 19th the Township feted those who’ve made a difference to life in Admaston-Bromley in 2019.
