The Arnprior and District Museum has presented its 2020 budget ask to Town Council.
Curator Janet Carlile also presented the facility’s updated Museum Emergency Plan at the November 25th municipal meeting.
In many ways the two documents are linked, as there is a lot of work still to be done following 2016 flooding, when water from a ruptured pipe inundated the Museum’s basement destroying or damaging collections and artifacts stored on the lower level.
Carlile has asked for an additional staff person, (to be known as the Collections Coordinator), who would work 20 hours per week at an annual cost of 16 thousand 600 dollars.
The Collections Coordinator would continue salvage work from the 2016 disaster, as well as adding an extra day per week to the hours the museum could be open.
Arnprior begins public consultations on what to include in its 2020 budget with a public session slated for 6PM Wednesday in Council Chambers.
