It’s a project whose time has come. County Road 52, also known as Raglan Street South, from the intersection of Hall and Veteran’s Blvd in Renfrew to Pucker Street in Horton had been shuffled to the backburner for a few years, but now the town of Renfrew and the county are moving forward with the work. Initially, the county was ready to begin the project in 2018, but Renfrew council asked that they hold off until the downtown reconstruction was completed. Should County agree to the scope of the project, Renfrew’s share of the cost is around $1.2 million, with the county covering the remaining $800 000. According to a report to council, the county is responsible for road, curb and storm sewer systems, while the town takes care of water, sanitary and sidewalks. Once all the Is are dotted and the Ts crossed, work is expected to be completed in 2020, with work slated to start in the Spring.
