The new coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs has experience with the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
On Wednesday afternoon the Leafs fired head coach Mike Babcock and named Sheldon Keefe their new head coach.
Keefe coached the Pembroke Lumber Kings between 2006 and 2012 and won the RBC Cup in 2011 with the team. He was most recently the head coach of the Toronto Marlies in the AHL.
Babcock has been with the Leafs for the last five seasons.
