Cobden is getting a Tim Horton’s. Big renovations are planned along the highway at the Shell gas station and 17 West Rest-Stop. Whitewater Region land use planner and economic development officer, Ivan Burton, says they will be demolishing the motel to make more parking room. An update was provided to council on Wednesday night and Burton says they’re still early in the process.
Burton says as a part of the site plan approval, they’ll be looking at safe access for pedestrians and vehicles as they expand the facility. He says the owners have confirmed a Tim Horton’s will be going into the location and the plans include an 11 car que for the drive-thru. Burton wasn’t sure when work would get started, but says the owners are anxious to move forward.
