The planned redevelopment of the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior has gone to tender.
Arnprior Regional Health Chief Executive Officer Eric Hanna tells us the bidding process will close by early October.
Hanna expects the initiative will involve between 150 and 200 construction jobs, including sub-contractors.
The total cost of the redevelopment project is calculated to be $29.2 million, and construction work will be a big component of the price tag.
This will be the first construction project in Ontario to break ground as part of the 15,000 new long-term beds that the Provincial Government has committed to funding.
Occupancy at the Grove will increase from 60 residents to 96 when it’s completed in June of 2021.
