Provincial Parks are open to residents across Ontario to enjoy on Friday free of charge. Parks across the province will offer events and activities that encourage people to get out and be active. All visitors will be issued a complimentary day-pass to enjoy park facilities until 10:00pm. At Algonquin Park, you can take part in “Healthy Parks, Healthy People”. The day will feature a full schedule of special events and activities including a free 4 Hour canoe rental at the Portage Store. There’s also free paddleboard and canoe rentals at Lake Opeongo Store with a free guided paddle of Costello Creek from 10:00am to 1:00pm. You can enjoy a two hour bike rental at Lake of Two Rivers Store on Friday for no cost. Find out more about bears at the Algonquin Visitor Centre at 10:30am or take part in a guided walk to find out how life was for a logger in Algonquin Park in the old days. That event is at the Algonquin Logging Museum Entrance Building between 1:00pm and 2:00pm.
