The Laurentian Valley Geo-Gnoming Contest begins today at 9:00 am.
Planning/Administrative Clerk Navada Sargent says they received close to 1,000 selfies over the five week long contest in its first year last year.
She says playing along is easy.
Participants find the gnome, take a selfie with it, and send it in to the Township via Facebook Messenger so as not to spoil the fun for other folks taking part.
The contest is open to both residents and tourists, and you must take selfies with the gnome at four out of its five locations to be eligible to win the grand prize.
There are weekly prizes, and a grand prize draw on August 21st, live on the township’s Facebook Page for a kayak, paddle and life jacket.
