POISON IVY AT BLUFF POINT ROAD IS HERE TO STAY
7/13/2017 5:23:07 PM

The cost to spray Bluff Point road for poison ivy is 1300 dollars. Money Greater Madawaska Township will not be spending. A request to spray the right of way was denied by council at a recent meeting. The annoying, itchy weed is found on several roads throughout the township and if they agree to spray one, they may be inundated with requests to spray more. And that could cost tens of thousands of tax payers dollars not available in the budget. The only responsibility the municipality has regarding noxious weeds, according to the weed control act, is to deal with noxious weeds and weed seeds interfering with land used for industries of agriculture and horticulture.
