Families visiting ailing loved ones at the Bonnechere Manor now have a place to call their own. The manor has revealed the recently renovated palliative care family room. Shelley Sheedy, Director of Long Term Care for the County of Renfrew says they've always had a room for families, but they've recently completed some work to improve their stay during an emotional time.

The Bonnechere Manor Palliative Care Program strives to provide end of life care while reducing pain and discomfort, and the new Micki Roberts Overnight Family Room is meant to provide some comfort to the patient's family members as well. The room cost roughly $25 000 to renovate and was made possible by generous donations from Sterlings No Frills, Walmart and Joan Whitham's family who donated $15 000 to the project.
