Quebec police are searching for three suspects following an armed robbery late last week. According to Marc Tessier with Surete du Quebec, two suspects entered a business in L'Isle Aux Allumettes on Friday and demanded money.

RENFREW TO HOST POW WOW FOR CANADA 150

The Town of Renfrew has given the Golden Age Activity Centre permission to use O'Brien Park for a Pow Wow in July. The organization secured an Ontario 150 grant to pay for the Ceremony of Celebration in honour of Canada's 150th birthday.

A tentative contract agreement has been reached averting a strike by L-C-B-O workers. The agreement was announced by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union shortly after the midnight strike deadline passed.

CANADA 150 RELAY A TEAM EFFORT

The Township of McNab/Braeside spent the first weekend of summer celebrating Canada's birthday. On Saturday (June 24), the Canada 150 Relay kicked off from the light house on Sand Point with a cannon blast and the passing of a hand made baton.

Plaid and cowboy hats as far as the eye could see this past weekend as the Rawhide Rodeo made a stop in Arnprior. Acting vice president for the Arnprior Agricultural Society, Brad Rundz says there was a lot going on to make for a fun weekend.

BREAK-IN AT RENFREW FAIRGROUNDS

You may see a heavier police presence at the Renfrew fair grounds following a break-in late earlier this month. According to the OPP, someone damaged the screen and metal door on June 15th when they broke into the dining hall near the grandstands.
