A little bird at the Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre is garnering national attention once again. The Bullock's Oriole that flew into Pakenham in 2015 is finally going home to BC. These birds are found in BC and Alberta, but their main range is in the US.

CHEO is getting a $10 000 boost thanks to the introduction to a new event at a recent fundraiser. The Upper Ottawa River Race and Paddle Festival says the first ever Paddle for CHEO was a huge success, with 50 paddlers in the water.

The Eastbound 417 is moving again after an earlier closure. A tractor trailer carrying hay caught fire this morning near the Kinburn Side Road exit just east of Arnprior. The last lane re-opened in the one o'clock hour. No one was hurt.

Expect delays if you're heading down the 417 eastbound. A tractor trailer, reportedly carrying hay, caught fire earlier this morning near Kinburn Side Road. The MTO are reporting that the right lane and the shoulder are both closed.

The annual Hospice Classic managed to bring in some much needed dollars for the facility. The event was held Friday at the Renfrew Golf Course. Chair of Hospice Renfrew, Joanne Dowdall-Brown says they managed to raise $35,000.

A state of emergency is declared for Ontario turtles, after its main trauma centre in Peterborough took in a lot more turtles this year. Executive and Medical Director Sue Carstairs says there were almost 750 turtles admitted to the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre.

The long weekend has kept everyone busy, including the Killaloe OPP. Police report a total of 107 charges laid during the Civic Holiday Long Weekend. Offences include 81 speeding charges, and two racing charges. The campaign began last Friday and ran until Monday.
