GREAT TURNOUT FOR RVH WALK RUN

It was a gorgeous day for a run and to support local health care. This year's RVH Walk Run saw roughly 60 participants raise over $2000. Hannah MacMillian, with the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation, was thrilled with the turnout.

Distracted driving continues to be an issue on Pontiac roads and now the Surete du Quebec is working with the SAAQ in a joint campaign to raise awareness as well as crackdown on those who insist on texting while driving.

On the anniversary of the murders three area women, MPP John Yakabuski reintroduced his Private Members Bill asking for legislation that would not allow past offenders out on parole unless they signed their parole restriction papers.

Snow. For most this word is not a good one. So with the Farmer?s Almanac predicting snow in October, many are hoping the almanac is wrong. Geoff Coulson with Environment Canada says he can't see it happening. Coulson says it looks like a warm October.

Greater Madawaska township is seeking input from its residents on a strategic plan. The township is holding two public meetings on the matter today (Monday). One is from 1-3pm at the Denbigh Griffith Lion's Club Hall on Highway 41 in Griffith.

THIEVES CASH IN DURING BREAK IN AT HIGHWAY 41 HOME

A break and enter earlier this month on Highway 41 in Bonnechere Valley saw a number of items taken. Police say jewellry, firearms and electronic devices were removed from the home.
